The BALDER beam-line at the MAX IV Laboratory - Open

This chapter gives a brief introduction to the basic physics of the synchrotron light source. We start with a glance at the state‐of‐the‐art of the worldwide storage ring light sources. It is followed by presenting three different methods for synchrotron radiation generation and their related physics. The Advanced Light Source is a U.S. Department of Energy scientific user facility at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
